Two wild mixed-breed dogs were discovered in a nearby park, and the fact that they couldn’t get up deeply moved those who rescued them.
Grace, though having the strength to rise, was physically weaker, so her companion chose to stay close to keep her warm.
“Lyla approached me with her tail wagging, but she closed her eyes as if she expected something bad,” Harper said.
Having gained the trust of both dogs through gentle caresses and praises, Harper was able to approach them safely, providing them with vests for warmth before taking them to the vet for evaluation.
Upon examination, it was discovered that the dogs, only 2 years old, had recently suffered severe injuries, indicating they had been mistreated. However, Gracie, the dog in critical condition, showed more signs of distress.
Both dogs began receiving therapy, and Gracie, despite her initial challenges, expressed gratitude and a desire to be close to her rescuer even while lying on her back. Although a long road to recovery lay ahead, she remained resilient and determined. After a few days, she started regaining her strength.
Harper expressed concern about the bond between the two dogs, unsure of how to proceed.
