Two cockapoo dogs’ routine walk turned into a family reunion between two long-lost siblings in the UK. The two siblings dogs are seen joyfully embracing each other on the street after unintentionally crossing paths while out for a stroll, according to pictures that a Twitter user posted. Twitter seemed to enjoy it, judging by the 936.1K likes and 186K retweets these images have received. Check out Bored Panda’s interview with Susan Killip, the dog’s owner, by scrolling down!
Libby Pincher recently posted pictures that her father sent her. Her dad’s business partner Dave saw another dog owner walking a dog that looked similar while out for a walk with his one-year-old cockapoo, Monty, in Ayecliffe, County Durham. The dogs quickly encircled one another with their paws, giving each other a bear hug. When the owners noticed this, they began to converse and discovered that although they had been adopted by different families, they had actually been from the same litter.
“One day, while walking Rosie with my husband Lee, we happened to run into David. “Aww, it was so cute, they both just leaped up and gave each other hugs. It was incredible that they remembered each other after ten months apart,” recalls Susan Killip. “I took some pictures and sent them to Jean. That was the last I heard about it until Jean called to tell me that David had sent the pictures to a friend, who then forwarded them to his daughter Libby. Then, we found out they were on Twitter, and you can imagine the rest is history.”
Susan responded, “We decided to get a cockapoo 2 years after losing our toy poodle called Lucy,” when asked how they made the decision to adopt Rosie. We continued to take long walks while occasionally carrying her ashes in our pockets because we were so sad to lose her. My friend who already owned a cockapoo introduced me to her dog’s breeder, who told us that Rosie’s mother, Millie, was expecting a litter in late June 2019.
“On June 30, they were born in Bishop Middleham. Although there were six puppies, Monty and Rosie remained inseparable. Since our friend Jean also decided to get a puppy, she chose Monty, while we had chosen Rosie, the small, quiet puppy in the corner. Since we already had a vacation planned in September, Jean took care of Rosie for two weeks after we picked her up due to issues with the breeder. They had an amazing time together for a week.
