The tale of Woody, a dog on a quest for a forever home, begins with an incomplete childhood.
At the tender age of five weeks, Woody faced a traumatic incident when attacked by another dog. Left to self-medicate without veterinary care after the attack, he endured further hardships when his owner tied and abandoned him. SNARR Animal Rescue stepped in, rescuing Woody from a lonely six weeks outside, sustained only by the kindness of neighbors.
According to SNARR’s Facebook post, Woody’s family had moved away, leaving him behind in an environment devoid of love. The decision was made to liberate him from this neglectful setting. Despite his unique appearance due to the previous attack, Woody was in good health, and SNARR expressed deep affection for him, emphasizing that his distinctiveness only heightened their love.
Woody’s resilience and caring nature were evident as he quickly formed a special bond with his adoptive mother, Jamie Bond. Recognizing his big heart, Jamie shared how Woody sensed her fever on the first day they met, staying by her side and becoming her devoted companion. Woody, now 8 months old, embraced the joys of puppyhood, bringing happiness to those around him.
SNARR emphasized that Woody, the cleft-nosed dog, is seeking the perfect forever home. They highlighted his need for love and attention, as well as some training. Woody is described as charming but may not be suitable for a home with cats. SNARR also suggested that he might thrive best in a household with only females.
Despite his size, Woody gets along well with kids, and SNARR believes older dogs (over 10 years old) would be preferable as his companions. Although not aggressive, Woody can display exuberance, especially around larger dogs.
