Banner, the extraordinary service dog owned by Whitney Braley, goes beyond her duties of assisting Whitney with her handicap. This 3-year-old Husky has a heart of gold and a talent for rescuing and caring for other animals in need.

Whitney has been with Banner since she was a puppy, and the bond between them is truly special. Banner is trained to assist with various tasks, including alerting to PTSD episodes, anxiety attacks, headaches, guidework, momentum pull, medicine retrieval, and self-harm interruption.

But Banner’s compassion extends beyond her duties. Whitney shared with Bored Panda, “She’s constantly connected to kittens, and we do a lot of rescuing.” Banner has raised numerous litters of kittens over the years, showcasing her nurturing nature.

Recently, Banner displayed an act of courage and compassion that touched hearts. She discovered a sealed cardboard box in the woods containing seven newborn kittens, barely a day old and at risk of freezing to death. Banner alerted Whitney and led her to the box, where they found the helpless kittens.

Whitney expressed her shock at the heartless act, saying, “Someone must have just put them in a cardboard box, locked the lid tight, and left them to die.” Banner, with her maternal instincts, hasn’t left the kittens’ side since, adopting them as her own.

While Banner’s heroic act is heartwarming, Whitney is determined to find suitable homes for the kittens, ensuring they live their lives with love and care. She emphasized the urgency, stating, “Because our local shelter kills in three days, I should do it myself. That is why I constantly wind up fostering infants. I do not want them to perish.”
