Putol, a resilient 6-year-old dog, was abandoned at birth due to having only two hind legs. Fortunately, he was rescued by Danilo Codilego Jr. in Casiguran, Philippines.
“I first met Putol about 6 years ago while working at a bakery. A colleague brought in four dogs to sell for 5000 pesos, but Putol remained because he was born with only two hind legs. No one wanted him, and even the owner wanted to throw him away. I decided to take care of him and named him Putol. In his first two years, Putol struggled to move but quickly learned to balance on his front legs. He is truly resilient! Now, Putol’s life is completely free of obstacles,” shared Danilo.
Thanks to Danilo’s kindness, Putol is well cared for and has adapted to walking on two legs. He integrates well with other dogs in Casiguran, Quezon City, Philippines, and even knows how to guard the home and protect his beloved owner.
“Putol tries his best to protect me and barks whenever there’s a stranger. He also gets jealous when I play with other dogs. Putol is quite friendly and loved in the neighborhood. When I go to work, people often help take care of him. The only sad thing is that due to his disability, Putol cannot have puppies,” said Danilo.
Despite his disability, Putol enjoys a happy and joyful life with the person he is most loyal to, embodying extraordinary resilience and the transformative power of compassion.
