A rescued Pit Bull, initially found tethered to a tree outside an abandoned residence, has undergone a remarkable recovery, all thanks to her dedicated rescuers.
Officer Nick from Fulton County Animal Control in Georgia discovered the dog while responding to a call.
Her neck bore severe wounds from the tightly wound chain, and she was in a state of starvation. The moment she spotted him, the dog vocalized her relief, expressing immense gratitude at the sight of someone.
Her eyes beseeched him for assistance, and her tail remained in a ceaseless wagging motion.
Officer Nick provided her with nourishment and reassurance before fetching bolt cutters to liberate her.
Transporting her to the shelter, the staff contacted Jason Platt, the founder of the Pit Bull rescue organization Friends To The Forlorn.
Zoe, initially named Cammy by the rescuers, embraced Jason with a cuddle the moment she laid eyes on him.
Jason promptly took her to the vet, where she received the necessary treatment. The video below captures Nick’s intervention in Zoe’s rescue and her subsequent liberation by Jason.
During her time at the vet’s, Zoe exhibited overwhelming relief and joy, ceaselessly showering people’s faces with affectionate licks. She could sense she was finally in the company of “good people.”
Over the next 7 months, she entered foster care, where she not only regained weight but also fully recovered. The moment her prospective family witnessed her transformation through before-and-after pictures, they were certain they wanted to provide her with a forever home.
Zoe has blossomed into a beautiful dog, described by her new family as quiet and mellow. She harmonizes well with everyone and thoroughly enjoys doggie daycare.
