A dog named Strawberry, deemed a “unicorn” pup due to a lump on her head, was almost euthanized but found a new lease on life with a second chance.
The Labelle Foundation rescued Strawberry, a pit bull mix, who was in poor condition with two large lumps on her head, mange, and severe skin infection. Despite her appearance, tests revealed that the lumps were not life-threatening but were scar tissue from an old injury. The surgery to remove them was deemed unnecessary and risky.
Determined to find Strawberry a loving family, the rescue highlighted her unique qualities and affectionately referred to her as a “unicorn” dog. Fortunately, a family from South Pasadena, California, Kristen Kuhlman, saw Strawberry’s story and fell in love with her gentle eyes and distinctive appearance.
Kristen and her family adopted Strawberry in September, and while the pup initially had a tough time adjusting to her new home, she eventually blossomed into an affectionate and beloved member of the family.
