In a poignant scene captured on video in central China, a heart-wrenching farewell unfolds as a distraught mother dog bids goodbye to her recently adopted puppy. This mixed-breed stray had given birth to a litter of seven puppies in mid-September, and students at Zhengzhou University in the province of Henan adopted one of them.
The emotional video, filmed on Monday, depicts the tearful mother tenderly kissing her brown pup before it embarks on its new journey with the adoptive owner. The female owner cradles the young pup in her arms as she walks toward her scooter, with the concerned mother trailing behind.
As the owner pauses next to her scooter, the mother dog comes to a halt, head down, tail drooping, and ears lowered—an image that seems to convey a plea to see her pup once more. The owner compassionately lowers the young pooch to its mother, allowing them a final exchange of kisses and licks.
The owner reassures the mother dog, saying, “Don’t worry, I’ll take excellent care of your puppy.” The mother dog then turns her head and walks away, casting one last glance at her beloved puppy before marching onward.
