Kelly O’Connell’s wedding day holds indelible memories, not just as the day she exchanged vows with her closest companion, Charlie Bear, a 15-year-old black Labrador, but also as the most significant day of her life.
Naturally, Charlie Bear, who should have been by her side, was carried down the aisle by Katie Lloyd, Kelly’s sister and maid of honor, marking a poignant moment.
Regrettably, Charlie Bear, diagnosed with a brain tumor in April, passed away on September 9th. The emotional scenes were captured by photographer Jen Dziuvenis, who, through tears, continued documenting the event, recognizing the importance of preserving these heartfelt moments.
It was a beautiful and poignant way for Kelly to bid farewell to her loyal companion, who had been a steadfast presence by her side through thick and thin. Charlie Bear’s memory will be forever cherished.
