Texas animal control authorities immediately informed the rescue shelter upon discovering him roaming the streets in poor health. The dog, named Bjarni, appeared menacing with bite marks and a cut on his face.
Bjarni had crooked teeth and bite scars all over his body, indicating that his previous owners chose to abandon him rather than help him when he needed them the most. To them, he was a “monster” they wished to discard.
Anne Graber, the founder of St. Francis Angels, a Texas-based animal rescue organization, heard Bjarni’s story and decided to welcome him into her facility. Despite his health issues and a troubled past, Bjarni was eager to engage.
